Mark "Mile High" Hylton - Sponsors and Supporters- things you'd like to know.

Mark Hylton is a darts player living in Rugeley, Staffordshire in the United Kingdom.

He has achieved great success as a County darts player representing Staffordshire since 1993. In fact, some may say his darts career is really taking off!

In addition to County play, Mark is truly a frequent flyer, participating in local and high profile tournaments with distinctions such as Winmau World Masters County Champion, British Dart Organization (BDO) County Champion and English and National Singles and World Championships to his name.

Additionally, Mark has competed in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, most notably, an appearance in the UK Open World Finals at Bolton's Reebok Stadium. This was a significant competition slot for Mark in that it was a major global darts event broadcast on television by Sky Sports. Right out of the gate, Mark enjoyed a first round victory over the Number One ranked professional American player, Ray Carver. Mark consistently found clear airspace to the board hitting his doubles and displaying excellent finishing.

The win helped give Mark some recognition, but more importantly bolstered his confidence in his own abilities to work hard and apply his craft in striving for a level of greater success. It should be noted that Mark is able to achieve these heights while also quite capably managing full time employment as an airline cabin manager! Mark Hylton, though, is not at all up in the air about his future in darts!

As darts became recognized as an official, registered sport by the Sports Councils of Great Britain in 2005, the opportunities for players increased. The sport has surpassed the popularity of its hay day and there has been an ever increasing involvement from major companies. These companies are sponsoring events, organizations, leagues and players. Prize money has grown exponentially and, at the present time, in the UK alone the prize money is well over the one million pound mark, the highest payouts that have ever existed at any time for darts! Equally astounding is the fact that the number of televised tournaments has risen dramatically bringing the sport into the homes of a wide and diverse demographic.

The time for ambitious players to take the pivotal step and become a semi or full time professional has never been so attractive. Realizing and maintaining this goal requires a cooperative effort - not just from the dedicated darts professional, but from family, friends, team and league mates, practice partners and those with available sponsorship funding. The costs involved in competing on the professional circuit are substantial when one considers entry fees, hotel costs and travel expenses.

At the same time, returns can be very rewarding. For the player, the satisfaction of climbing the rankings ladder, gaining notoriety and a place in the elite top thirty two and making automatic qualification into the major televised events, is the main objective. For the sponsor, the exposure is invaluable. Media coverage at the major events is priceless, not to mention the visibility that the company branding would also get at the smaller events. Sponsor company logos are proud adornments on the darts professional's shirt and are seen by tens of thousands of spectators and viewers.

Should your company or organization be interested in a truly unique and mutually beneficial marketing collateral arrangement, sponsoring one of the rising stars in the sport, Mark would be pleased to discuss this directly with you. Mark will meet personally with you to review your requirements as they relate to his so that the best possible match is made, fostering a lasting relationship. Mark is also happy to provide a promotional DVD of his performance at the UK Open.

The seatbelt sign is off, we are at cruising altitude and, indeed, the sky is the limit for Mark Hylton!
