last 256 x 3, last 128 x 13, last 64 x 4

June 1st - November 28th :
27 comps ( including world cricket champs, Irish Classic and Qualifier) - 40 wins and 26 losses - 6600 ranking point (2700 additional points) 27 comps ( including world cricket champs, Irish Classic and Qualifier) - 40 wins and 26 losses - 6600 ranking point (2700 additional points) last 256 x 0, last 128 x 7, last 64 x 9, last 32 x 5, last 16 x 4, last 8 x 0, last 4 x 1, runner up x1

The above included 14 wins over players ranked in the worlds top 40, 6 over those in the top 16 and 10 over those in the top 32. The highlight of these was probably a 6-5 win, from behind, over Gary Anderson in Dublin. The twin defeats of Mark Walsh in Australia and Canada were important!

2010 has proven an incredible year for Mile High and those who have followed and supported him.  The highs and lows will become obvious from the summary below    Jan 20th - Mark accepts offer to become a PDC player.

Majors :

Grand Slam of Darts - Lost in Group Stages (Gary Anderson and Wayne Jones qualified)
Ladbrokes World Championships - Reached last 16 defeating Steve Beaton(24) & Colin Lloyd(9) loss to Mark Webster(25)last years 3rd place!

The above Majors and the Australian Open (Player’s Championships) Final must rank as the highlights, but the superb overall form, from June also seem as important.

Finishing Positions - As at December 1st 2010:
Overall Order of Merit - 90 (out of 478)(this is a 2 year system and Mark has had only 1 year)
Players Championship Order of Merit - 42 (out of 320)
As of Jan 4th 2011 - Order of Merit - 52*

This 1st year is comparable with any who have made the step into PDC darts under the current system and without a traditional background in pro darts it is a remarkable achievement.

Open Events:

In case you think that 23 weekends and 1 major plus another

to come are not enough work for a jobbing darter, Mark's dedication

to the Open circuit has not waned at all. Between February and November

Mark has competed in approx 45 additional Open Events mainly on Friday,

Over the same time period Mile High has featured in 14 exhibition or appearance events, entertained a large number of people and been involved raising at least £3000 in funds for Macmillan, Air Ambulance and a number of more personal causes. Mark has supports a number of darting projects including a dart club in a local school which hopes to form a league with others (the school badge was worn during the Grand Slam of Darts).

We would like to thanks the following for giving us the opportunity to entertain and raise funds -

The Avenue - Finals night and post comp exhibition
The Castle - King of the Castle Evening
Sports Bar - Beat the Pro
Red Lion - Beat the Pro
Red Lion - The Paul Hearty Memorial Cup and Fundraiser
Various School Visits

Thus over 150 events of 1 sort or another in the last 9.5 months! Still 1 more to go!!!!!!!!

Practise & Support Venues:

Many have assisted but special thanks to The Pint Pot, The Castle, The Hasbury Inn, The Red Lion, The Long bridge Club and all host venues.

Over the years Mark has played with many players but during this year a few have given major assistance given up time and travelled to both play and support Mile High in his efforts, sometimes to the detriment of their own game. Andy Richardson, Ryan Herrington, Simon Jones, Andy Brown in particular have played huge number of legs and games with differing venues and formats to assist.
Kirk Shepherd was the first on the circuit to join us and help to inspire the guys, many thanks.
On the circuit itself we are very grateful to Colin Osborne and The Hammer for helping Mark settle in and assisting with many different travel and other arrangements. They have also been very supportive in all area's.
Dennis Smith has been a great support both to Mark and his management team, a wise head who has been through it all before, again deserved gratitude and respect.
Steve Beaton whose encouragement, and quiet discreet assistance, at many a crucial moment have given huge help. (How ironic to have to meet him at Ally Pally!)
Well as this tale is as long as the season , it should end as it began - What a Year!
I will add to this tale of darting daring do and insanity when Mile High's excursion at Ally Pally is over!
